Kirton Point Children’s Centre
Nunga Playgroup: Mother’s Art Group
Kirton Point Children’s Centre gives all children opportunities to develop, understand, learn and become aware of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture. This helps children to learn about diversity and embrace similarities and differences.
Each Tuesday, we hold Nunga Playgroup. This is where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families are welcomed to gather in a culturally safe environment and children can play and sing together.
We do many activities, and art and craft has been extremely popular and enjoyable, allowing mothers to explore their intuition over a period of weeks whilst still playing and engaging with their children. This is how our creations evolved.

Together We Are Strong
“Alone we are vulnerable but together we are mighty. The fish represents my family. The seaweed represents the struggles we face everyday and together we overcome them all.
