ESTHER WILLIAMS

How did you get into art?

As a little girl, I always had an interest in art. Over the years, I painted here and there but it wasn’t until I was going through cancer that I was encouraged to do a painting for the hospital by my oncologist. I took it more seriously from this point.

How do you remain focused or inspired?

Looking at the beauty of creation and all its wonder. There’s so much beauty to be seen and putting this into a painting is an incredible feeling.

What drives you to create?

Being challenged and experimenting with different techniques and colour.

How long have you been making art?

All through schooling I wanted to be an artist but as I reached late teens those dreams were crushed. I was told art is not a career. For many years I stopped painting but eventually took it up again for my own pleasure. It wasn’t until the late 1990’s that I began taking it more seriously and started showing my art and selling work on commission.

What is you dream project?

To be recognised for my art and style.
