Curated by artist-geographer Dr Candice Boyd, Finding Home is an exhibition of research findings from the Engaging Youth in Regional Australia (EYRA) study funded by the Australian Research Council from 2019-2021. Inspired by discussions with community groups and interviews with young people, 16 artworks were produced. Legacy: Reflections on Mabo The Nautilus Arts Centre is delighted to present Legacy: Reflections on Mabo, the first major art exhibition exploring the Mabo legacy from Indigenous and non-Indigenous perspectives, and the first to incorporate significant curatorial direction by the Mabo family. Vera and Jenna Richards are 2 sisters from Galinyala (Port Lincoln or “place of sweet water”) who have a combined love of art and creativity. The Yagalbili Ngandya Exhibition (meaning “The Beauty of 2 Sisters” in their traditional Barngarla language) is a collection of their artwork that they have created over the years and finally decided to share with the Nautilus and you. Artists Brenton Bailey (Coffin Bay) and Karl James (Whyalla) have collaborated to present the exhibition ‘Telling Stories’ for this years South Australian Living Artists Festival (SALA) in our Walter Nicholls Gallery.
