“SPRUNG” | Port Lincoln Art Group | Annual Spring Exhibition
Spring has “Sprung”
The Port Lincoln Art Group (PLAG) has been busy preparing for their Annual Art Exhibition which has been aptly titled “Sprung”. This exhibition is the culmination of a year’s experimentation, technique acquisition and growth as artists in a supportive group environment.
Despite the challenges of the past year, PLAG has still been very active with workshops and tutorials as well as the regular Wednesday painting day at ArtEyrea in its 50th year. Landscape painting has been a theme with workshops with Dave Trengrove and Thelma Harvey. In addition, the art group sponsored a successful “En Plein Air” painting competition in conjunction with the SALT Festival. Some group members have been inspired by these workshops and the results will be seen at the Exhibition. Portrait painting utilising 2 models under the tutelage of Cris Atkinson was also a highlight. The late Jane Hutchinson again shared her extensive knowledge in a series of pastel mini workshops featuring “Still life” genre.
PLAG members meet every Wednesday at ArtEyrea between 10am and 3pm. Anyone is welcome to drop in to obtain further details. Work is also underway to offer an after hours session to enable those who work to also experience the joy of creativity. Keep a lookout for further details on this.
